The Nursing Nurses

Prenatal Education and Lactation Support

About Us

Meet Andrea and Bernie, colleagues and more importantly friends. Together we have a combined total of 25+ years experience as Labour&Delivery/Postpartum Registered Nurses and as International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. Although, our most important role is being Mamas to our 4 INCREDIBLE, young children. We have all had a variety of different experiences and challenges in regards to pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. These experiences combined with our knowledge, clinical expertise and passion enable us to support and empower families to reach their own unique goals. We are happy to provide our services in the communities of Halton, Peel and Hamilton.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help educate, empower and support families as they transition through pregnancy, birth and parenting. We believe in a holistic, evidence based approach that will be individually tailored to meet each family's needs and goals.

Core Values

We will support our families by providing current, evidence-based information regarding pregnancy, birth, breast/chestfeeding and infant care.

Our families will feel empowered by being fully engaged in their care through pregnancy, birth and parenting. We strongly believe in being transparent, keeping open communication in order to provide effective education and appropriate resources, allowing our families to make informed decisions based on their individual need and goals.

We will promote, protect and support breastfeeding in our community. We focus on our clients' breastfeeding intentions, breastfeeding self-efficacy and social support, enabling clients to breastfeed comfortably anywhere, anytime. We also advocate for families by providing appropriate resources to overcome any challenges through this journey.
